A closer look at recent J M A Group builds from groundworks to finished space.
1. Design & Construction Under One Service
You won’t need to juggle architects, builders and trades yourself. We handle the drawings, then build what we’ve designed.
2. Construction Management
A project manager oversees every stage of your build. Trades are coordinated properly, not left to sort themselves out.
3. Defined Scope of Works
You’ll know exactly what’s included before we start. No grey areas and no guesswork later on.
4. Stage Payment Structure
Payments are linked to clear stages of the build. You pay as each stage is reached and signed off.
5. Quality Control
We check the work as your extension takes shape. Any issues are picked up and put right along the way.
6. Professional Communication
You get one clear point of contact throughout. Instructions never get mixed up between you and the trades.
7. One Team for Larger Renovations
Planning a new kitchen or bathroom too? We can fold it into the same project with the same team.
Call us or fill in our form. Tell us about your home and the space you need.
We talk through your ideas, budget and priorities. Then we explain the options that suit your home.
We visit your Birmingham property and measure up. We check access, ground conditions and the existing structure.
Drawings and structural calculations are prepared where needed. We guide you through planning and Building Regulations.
You get a detailed scope and itemised quote. Every item is listed, so nothing is hidden.
We agree a start date and timeline with you. Then work begins on site, stage by stage.
Your project manager runs the site day to day. Work is checked at each stage before moving on.
We finish every detail and check it against the agreed scope. Any snags are sorted before we leave. Then we hand over a clean, ready-to-use space.
1. Single-Storey Extensions
A simple way to gain ground-floor space. Ideal for a bigger kitchen, dining area or family room. Some single storey extensions in Birmingham may fall under permitted development. We’ll check this for you.
2. Double-Storey Extensions
Add space on both floors in one build. Gain a bigger living area downstairs and extra bedrooms upstairs. It can work out better value than two separate projects.
3. Rear Extensions
Push your home out into the garden. A rear extension creates open living space that flows outside. Bi-fold doors and roof lights bring in plenty of daylight.
4. Side Return Extensions
Common in Birmingham’s Victorian and Edwardian terraces. We build into the narrow side alley to widen your kitchen. A small change that makes a big difference.
5. Wraparound Extensions
Combine side and rear extensions in one design. It reshapes the whole ground floor. A great fit for semi-detached homes with side access.
6. Kitchen Extensions
Make room for an island, a dining table and proper storage. A kitchen extension in Birmingham turns a cramped galley into a family hub.
7. Open-Plan Kitchen and Living Extensions
Bring cooking, dining and relaxing into one bright space. Perfect for families who like to be together. It makes hosting friends far easier too.
8. Utility and Boot Room Extensions
Move the washing machine, coats and muddy boots out of sight. A compact house extension that keeps the rest of your home tidy.
9. Additional Bedroom Extensions
Growing family or regular guests? Add a bedroom without the cost and stress of moving house.
10. Home Office Extensions
Work from home without using the kitchen table. A dedicated office gives you quiet and a door you can close.
It depends on size, design, structure and finishes. We give you an itemised quote after a free site survey. So you’re working from real figures, not rough guesses.
Not always. Some extensions fall under permitted development rights. Others need approval from Birmingham City Council. Conservation areas and past alterations can change the rules. We’ll confirm the right route for your home.
Almost always, yes. The regulations cover structure, insulation, drainage, ventilation and fire safety. We prepare the details needed and work with building control throughout.
Every project is different. Size, design and approvals all affect the timeline. We’ll give you a realistic programme once the scope is agreed.
Most homeowners do. We plan the work to keep disruption as low as possible. If your kitchen is affected, we’ll talk through options early.
Your home might tick every box except one: space. A well-planned extension changes how you live. Picture a bigger kitchen, an extra bedroom or a family room everyone actually uses. You keep the home and street you love, with room to grow.
