Extensions, lofts, garage conversions and full refurbishments delivered with control not confusion.
Lots of Birmingham homeowners are happy with where they live. It’s the house itself that’s the problem. The kitchen’s cramped, the back room never gets any light, or nothing has been updated in twenty years.
That’s the work we do. J M A Group is a home renovation builder in Birmingham, and we handle the job from the first visit to the final clean. We’ll tell you what’s possible, what it’ll cost and how long it’ll take, then our own team gets on with it.

Renovation Should Feel Structured, Not Stressful
We operate on a design manage build model, meaning one experienced team controls every stage of your project.
We’re rarely the cheapest quote, and we don’t try to be. As a Birmingham renovation company, our clients come to us because they want the job planned properly and finished properly.
Everything starts with a proper look round your home. We ask how you use each room, what frustrates you and what you'd change tomorrow. The design grows from those answers.
Birmingham has a lot of older housing, and older houses hide things. Tired lintels, original wiring, damp in solid walls. We check for these before the plans are final, not after the plaster comes off.
Your price is built from the agreed design, so every line means something. If you change your mind later, you'll see the cost before we act on it.
You'll get a week-by-week plan for the whole project. It shows when each trade arrives and when rooms come back into use.
Your project manager runs the site day to day and checks the work as it goes. Handover means finished, not a list of jobs still to do.
1. Home Extensions
Single-storey, side return and wrap-around extensions. Designed to suit Birmingham’s terraces and semis rather than fight them.
2. Loft Conversions
Dormer and hip-to-gable conversions that add a bedroom without giving up any garden.
3. Garage Conversions
That garage full of boxes could be a playroom, office or spare bedroom.
4. Full House Renovations
For homes that need more than a lick of paint. Rewiring, replumbing, new heating, layout changes and finishes, all under one contract.
5. Kitchen Renovation
Kitchens planned around how you cook and eat. Often the change that makes the biggest difference to family life.
6. Bathroom Upgrade
Family bathrooms, en-suites and accessible wet rooms, waterproofed and fitted properly.

I recently had an initial visit with Sunnie from JMA regarding my planned single-storey wrap-around extension. Although the visit had to be rearranged twice due to unforeseen circumstances, this was handled in a timely and professional manner. When Sunnie came out for the initial visit, he took the time to listen to my vision for the project and we discussed various options, including planning, design, materials, timescales and costs. He was professional, friendly and accommodating to my suggestions, while also being very solution-focused and offering practical ideas. He provided an overall estimated cost for the build and even offered me a discount as a Blue Light Card holder, which was a really welcomed gesture. Following the initial visit, I have decided to go ahead with Sunnie and JMA for my project. I feel confident in my decision and am really looking forward to seeing my plans come together over the coming months.Posted on Google![]()

Sunnie from JMA Group visited us and explained the entire extension process in great detail. He provided different options along with estimated costs on the same day. He appeared very professional throughout. He also mentioned that they build new houses and offer an NHBC warranty. This was our first meeting with them, and if we agree on the pricing, we look forward to working with themPosted on Google![]()

Amazing work by Sunnie and the JMA team. Definitely worth the money and has added value to my house
The whole city. That includes Moseley, Kings Heath, Harborne, Edgbaston, Hall Green, Erdington and Sutton Coldfield.
It depends on the size of the house, its condition and the finish you want. Most of our projects start from around £30,000. After the site survey, you’ll get a fully itemised price.
Most internal work doesn’t need it. Extensions, lofts and changes to the outside might. Conservation areas such as Moseley have stricter rules. We check your project with Birmingham City Council and handle any application.
Most clients do. We phase the work so you keep a working kitchen or bathroom for as long as possible.
That depends on the scope, so we won’t guess before seeing your home. Once the design is agreed, you’ll get a written programme with clear dates.
Most renovations start with a rough idea and a few photos saved on someone’s phone. That’s fine. You don’t need drawings or a fixed budget before you get in touch.
We’ll come out, walk round the house with you and talk through what you’d like to change. By the end of the visit, you’ll know what’s realistic, roughly what it’ll cost and what happens next.
There’s no pressure to commit to anything. Just book a free site survey and we’ll arrange a time that suits you.
