From Victorian houses to 1930s semis in Pedmore and Norton, Stourbridge has a real mix of homes. Loft conversions in Stourbridge need to suit the house as well as your plans.
We also work in Wollaston, Oldswinford, Amblecote and Wordsley. Taller period roofs can hold generous rooms, while newer homes may need more structural work.
As loft conversion builders in Stourbridge, we design, manage and build each project. You stay informed from the first visit to the final coat of paint.

Every roof is different. We take the time to understand yours before we start.
1. Design & Construction Coordination
Our designers and site team work together from the first sketch. What we draw is what we can actually build.
2. Structural Coordination
Period roofs and modern trussed roofs need different structural fixes. We plan the right solution with an engineer.
3. Defined Scope of Works
You’ll have a clear written scope before work begins. It shows what’s included and what’s not.
4. Professional Project Management
Your Stourbridge project has one project manager. They coordinate the trades and update you at every stage.
5. Quality Control
We inspect the work regularly and fix issues as we go. You won’t be left with a long list at the end.
6. Building Regulations
We design to current Building Regulations and work with building control. That covers fire safety, stairs and insulation.
7. Wider Renovation Capability
Planning a bigger change? We can combine your loft with an extension or full refurbishment in one project.
We meet you at home, hear what you want and talk about budget. You'll leave with a clearer idea of what's possible.
We inspect the roof structure and measure the space. Older roofs and newer trussed roofs are assessed differently.
We develop a design that suits your home's style. On older houses, that often means careful dormer proportions.
We check permitted development and conservation area status. Where needed, we apply to Dudley Council for you.
We produce the structural design and Building Regulations drawings. Every key detail is agreed before work starts.
You get a defined scope and an itemised quote. It's easy to see what each part of the work costs.
We open the roof, install the new structure and make it watertight. Then we insulate, plaster and finish the space.
We coordinate the trades and quality-check each stage. Handover happens once the work matches the agreed scope.
1. Dormer Loft Conversions
A dormer adds height and floor area in one go. A dormer loft conversion in Stourbridge can be styled to suit older or newer homes.
2. Rear Dormer Conversions
Rear dormers keep the changes away from the street. They suit semis and terraces where the front view matters.
3. Hip-to-Gable Loft Conversions
Hip-to-gable conversions suit many interwar semis. Building the side roof up creates a bigger, squarer loft.
4. Rooflight / Velux-Style Loft Conversions
Some tall Victorian and Edwardian roofs work with rooflights alone. It’s a neat way to add a room with minimal change.
5. Mansard Loft Conversions
A mansard can create a generous top floor on the right property. It normally needs planning permission and careful design.
6. Bedroom Loft Conversions
Need another bedroom? A loft conversion adds one without giving up garden space or moving house.
7. Master Bedroom Suites
Create a peaceful master suite at the top of the house. It’s away from the noise of family life downstairs.
8. Loft Conversions with En-Suites
We plan the en-suite around the roof slope. Basins and toilets go in lower areas, showers where the height allows.
9. Home Office Loft Conversions
A loft office gives you a calm place to work. Good daylight and built-in storage make the most of the space.
10. Loft Conversion and Renovation Projects
Making wider changes to your home? Your loft can be part of a larger home renovation in Stourbridge.
11. Loft Structural Alterations
We install the beams, joists and supports your engineer specifies. They turn a loft into a safe, solid floor.
12. Staircase Installation
We plan the staircase to meet the headroom and safety rules. The goal is stairs that feel natural, not squeezed in.
13. Roof Alterations and Strengthening
Period roofs may need repairs or strengthening before conversion. We assess the timbers and make good where needed.

I recently had an initial visit with Sunnie from JMA regarding my planned single-storey wrap-around extension. Although the visit had to be rearranged twice due to unforeseen circumstances, this was handled in a timely and professional manner. When Sunnie came out for the initial visit, he took the time to listen to my vision for the project and we discussed various options, including planning, design, materials, timescales and costs. He was professional, friendly and accommodating to my suggestions, while also being very solution-focused and offering practical ideas. He provided an overall estimated cost for the build and even offered me a discount as a Blue Light Card holder, which was a really welcomed gesture. Following the initial visit, I have decided to go ahead with Sunnie and JMA for my project. I feel confident in my decision and am really looking forward to seeing my plans come together over the coming months.Posted on Google![]()

Sunnie from JMA Group visited us and explained the entire extension process in great detail. He provided different options along with estimated costs on the same day. He appeared very professional throughout. He also mentioned that they build new houses and offer an NHBC warranty. This was our first meeting with them, and if we agree on the pricing, we look forward to working with themPosted on Google![]()

Amazing work by Sunnie and the JMA team. Definitely worth the money and has added value to my house
It depends on your property. Many rear dormers and hip-to-gables fall under permitted development. Homes in conservation areas don’t have these rights for roof extensions, so they need full permission from Dudley Council. Stourbridge has several conservation areas, so we always check your address first.
Yes. Older roofs are often tall, which helps with head height. They may need extra strengthening or repairs, so we assess the timbers carefully during the survey.
The main ones cover structure, fire safety, insulation, ventilation and stairs. A new storey usually needs a protected escape route and interlinked smoke alarms. We design all of this in and work with building control.
Usually above the existing stairs, as this saves the most space. The regulations set a minimum headroom, with some allowance for loft conversions. You’ll see a few layout options before anything is fixed.
It depends on the size, conversion type and level of finish. We’ll give you an itemised quote after a free survey, based on your actual home.
The extra room you need could already be over your head.
Our loft conversion team in Stourbridge will survey your roof, explain the options and handle every stage of the build.
